Fulham manager Marco Silva has clarified that the club is yet to open discussions with AC Milan regarding a permanent transfer for Samuel Chukwueze, despite the winger’s impressive early performances in the Premier League.
Chukwueze arrived at Craven Cottage on deadline day, joining on loan with an option to buy that is believed to fall between £22 million and £26 million. The 26-year-old has quickly settled into life in west London, delivering impactful displays and showing interest in staying beyond the current season.
Speaking during his pre-match press conference on Friday, Silva stressed that there is no immediate need to rush into negotiations. He also hinted that Fulham structured the loan deal in a way that puts them in a favourable position.
“We haven’t had any talks so far. The agreement we made protects the club. He’s been excellent for us, and hopefully he can continue performing in the next few matches. We have an option on him,” Silva said.
The Nigerian international has contributed two goals and three assists in just seven Premier League appearances, including a standout two-goal performance in Fulham’s thrilling 5–4 loss to Manchester City earlier in the week.
Fulham’s home form has been strong this season, with their only defeats at Craven Cottage coming against Manchester City and Arsenal. Chukwueze believes that momentum will be crucial as they prepare to face Crystal Palace on Sunday.
“In our home games, we’ve been very strong. Since I arrived, the only matches we’ve lost here were against two top teams—Manchester City and Arsenal. Apart from those, we haven’t been beaten at home. We feel confident and solid,” he told Fulham’s official website.
With Chukwueze proving to be an influential addition, Fulham supporters will be eager to see whether the club eventually activates the purchase option—but for now, Silva is content to let the winger’s performances do the talking.
