Uba Sani Denies Backing Any Aspirant Ahead of 2027 Elections, Urges Public to Ignore False Claims

The Governor of Uba Sani has dismissed reports suggesting that he has endorsed certain political aspirants ahead of the 2027 general elections, describing the claims as baseless and deliberately misleading.

In a statement issued by the Kaduna State Commissioner for Information, Ahmed Maiyaki, the state government clarified that the governor has not thrown his support behind any individual seeking elective office. According to the statement, the reports circulating on social media and other platforms are fabrications intended to misinform the public.

The government emphasized that Governor Sani remains committed to the principles of democracy and fairness within the political system. It noted that the governor believes all aspirants should emerge through the constitutional processes and internal mechanisms established by their political parties, rather than through premature endorsements or favoritism.

Maiyaki explained that the governor’s priority at the moment is governance and the delivery of policies designed to improve the living standards of residents across Kaduna State. He stressed that Sani is focused on implementing developmental programmes and strengthening public service delivery rather than getting involved in early political maneuvering ahead of the 2027 elections.

The commissioner also cautioned individuals and groups against spreading unverified information or politically motivated rumours. According to him, the circulation of false narratives could create unnecessary tension in the political space and mislead citizens about the position of the state government.

“The attention of the Kaduna State Government has been drawn to a misleading message making the rounds on social media, alleging that Governor Uba Sani has endorsed certain aspirants for elective positions. This claim is completely false and should be disregarded,” the statement said.

The government therefore urged the public to rely only on official communications when seeking information about the governor’s political stance, warning that those who deliberately spread misinformation risk undermining public trust and destabilizing the political atmosphere.

Officials reiterated that Governor Sani remains committed to inclusive leadership and transparent democratic processes, assuring citizens that any political decisions within party structures will be determined through due process and not through personal endorsement.
