Nigerian content creator and TikTok personality Hamza Kolu has spoken candidly about the reason behind his distinctive physical appearance, offering fans a glimpse into his early life and personal struggles.
During a recent appearance on The Honest Bunch Podcast, the 32-year-old influencer explained that he was born prematurely at seven months rather than the typical nine-month term. According to him, his early arrival significantly affected his physical development and is largely responsible for his present body structure.
Kolu said he has often been asked about his appearance and felt it was important to clarify the circumstances surrounding his birth. He expressed his belief that being born two months early played a major role in shaping his growth and overall physique.
Beyond discussing his health at birth, the social media star also reflected on his family background. He revealed that his mother passed away many years ago when he was still a child, a loss that deeply impacted his upbringing. While he continues to mourn her absence, he shared that his father is still alive.
“I was born prematurely at seven months, not nine months. That is why I look the way I do,” he said during the podcast. “My mother passed away a long time ago, but my father is still here.”
Born on December 1, 1993, in Kogi State, Kolu’s rise to fame is a testament to perseverance and resilience. Before stepping into the spotlight, he reportedly worked various small jobs in Abuja, striving to make ends meet while nurturing his ambition.
His breakthrough came after he caught the attention of controversial Nigerian singer Portable, who invited him to Lagos and introduced him to broader opportunities within the entertainment industry. That exposure opened new doors and allowed Kolu to expand his creative pursuits.
He later began collaborating with popular comedian and streamer Carter Efe, a move that significantly boosted his visibility online. Through engaging skits, livestreams, and relatable content, Kolu steadily built a strong following across TikTok and Instagram.
Today, Hamza Kolu stands as an example of how determination and self-acceptance can transform personal challenges into a powerful story of inspiration.
