Nollywood actress Fathia Balogun has announced the passing of her mother, sharing the heartbreaking news with her fans and followers on social media. The revelation came just days after the celebrated actress marked her 55th birthday.
Although her birthday officially fell on Thursday, February 5, Fathia chose to hold a celebration on Sunday. Tragically, unknown to her at the time, her mother had passed away the day before the planned party. The painful news was intentionally withheld from her, a decision that has since added to the emotional weight of the loss.
In an emotional message, the actress explained that her mother’s death still feels unreal to her, describing the late woman as someone who played countless irreplaceable roles in her life. According to Fathia, her mother was not only her parent but also her strongest supporter, prayer partner, confidant, and closest friend—someone she shared everyday conversations with and leaned on for encouragement.
