Veteran Yoruba film actor and director, Femi Bright, has opened up about a deeply unsettling experience that led him to believe mysterious spiritual activities were taking place in his home.
According to Bright, the incident occurred one night when he woke up from sleep to use the bathroom. While urinating, he glanced through the window of his master bedroom toward the corridor and suddenly heard a woman’s voice speaking clearly. The voice, he said, appeared to be calling someone else’s attention to him, as though pointing him out at that very moment.
Although the voice sounded real and distinct, the actor said he did not immediately react. Instead, he returned to bed and went back to sleep, only for the experience to trouble him later the following morning. Upon waking, he began to reflect on what had happened and grew disturbed by the strange nature of the incident.
Bright said he questioned members of his household, asking if anyone knew or had seen the woman whose voice he heard that night. When everyone denied any knowledge of such a person, he reportedly told them that he felt strange and possibly evil forces were holding secret meetings inside the house. However, his concerns were largely dismissed, as his family members did not take his claims seriously at the time.
About two weeks after the incident, the actor said events took an even more alarming turn. He had been contracted by a woman based in Libya to direct a film project, part of which was shot at a church in the Igando area of Lagos. After filming wrapped up, the church owner informed him that someone inside the church had fallen into a spiritual trance and insisted on speaking with him before he left.
When Bright met the individual, he said the message he received left him completely stunned. According to him, the person in the trance immediately warned that witches were holding meetings in his house. The statement, he said, instantly reminded him of the strange voice he had heard earlier and the concerns he had already shared with his family.
The actor explained that this was not an isolated experience in his life. He recalled another incident in which a colleague took him to a religious cleric, who allegedly revealed that a popular actor had attempted to undermine his success through spiritual manipulation. Bright said he was divinely protected and that sustained prayers prevented any harm from coming to him.
Reflecting on these experiences, Bright said they reinforced his belief that unseen spiritual battles can surround people without their knowledge. According to him, such encounters have made him more conscious of spiritual realities and the need for constant vigilance and prayer.
“These experiences convinced me that there are things happening around us that we may not always see or understand,” he said, adding that his faith has played a major role in keeping him safe despite such challenges.
