The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced the commencement of a 90-day nationwide Membership Mobilization, Revalidation, and Registration (MMRR) exercise aimed at strengthening its grassroots base and updating its membership records across the country.
The development was made public on Saturday through a statement issued by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi. He explained that the exercise is part of the ADC’s broader efforts to reposition the party ahead of its forthcoming internal activities and national engagements.
In addition to the membership drive, the party has released provisional schedules for its congresses, including the election of delegates at the polling unit, ward, and local government levels. These congresses are expected to play a key role in shaping the party’s leadership structure and internal democratic processes.
According to circulars signed by the ADC’s National Secretary, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, the congresses are tentatively scheduled to take place between January 20 and January 27, 2026. The series of activities will subsequently lead to the party’s Non-Elective National Convention, which is slated for February 2026 in Abuja.
The ADC noted that the announcement of these programmes follows resolutions reached during the meeting of its National Working Committee (NWC) held on November 27, 2025. The party emphasized that all planned activities are in strict compliance with the relevant provisions of its constitution, underscoring its commitment to due process and internal democracy.
Party leaders expressed optimism that the nationwide exercise and upcoming congresses would reinvigorate the ADC’s structure, expand its membership base, and better position it for future political engagements.
