Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has raised alarm over persistent death threats allegedly directed at his wife, Natasha, following the circulation of videos showing a dispute between the couple in London.
According to Naija News, tensions heightened after members of 2Baba’s family submitted a formal petition to the Inspector-General of Police, accusing Natasha of assaulting the singer and mismanaging his finances. The petition, dated November 12, called for a thorough investigation into what the family described as a pattern of behaviour that has caused 2Baba emotional turmoil, financial setbacks, and damage to his public image.
The petition also alleged that the singer and several witnesses had reported incidents of physical confrontation involving Natasha, both in the United Kingdom and in Abuja. Additionally, the family accused her of gaining unauthorized access to 2Baba’s mobile phone and bank accounts, from which she allegedly moved funds without his consent. They further claimed she withheld important personal documents, including his passport, supposedly hindering him from attending scheduled business engagements.
However, 2Baba has now publicly taken a stand against his own family’s actions. In a video posted on Friday through his social media accounts, the celebrated artiste condemned what he described as attempts by relatives to “destroy” him while unfairly tarnishing Natasha’s reputation. He insisted that the situation has spiralled far beyond a normal marital disagreement.
The veteran singer stressed that he is tired of keeping quiet and asserted his right to make personal choices without external interference. He also revealed that similar patterns of family intrusion occurred during his marriage to his estranged wife, Annie Idibia.
Expressing frustration, he said Natasha has been receiving disturbing death threats since their private conflict became public. He defended his wife, stating that disagreements are a natural part of any relationship and do not justify the level of hostility currently being directed at her.

“This whole situation has gotten dangerously out of hand. Natasha is receiving death threats, and I will not keep quiet anymore. I’m a grown man and have the right to live my life and choose who I want to be with. My family, who claimed they were trying to protect me, have actually destroyed me and damaged someone’s daughter’s character. Yes, Natasha and I had a quarrel who doesn’t quarrel with their spouse? Things may be rough, but I’m fine. The same thing happened with Annie.”
The unfolding drama has sparked widespread reactions online, with many urging both sides to seek peaceful resolution while ensuring the safety and well-being of everyone involved.
